Stewart Southworth Obituary (1939 - 2018)

Stewart Brian Southworth OLD TOWN—Stewart Brian Southworth, 78, died April 16, 2018 at Maine Veterans Home Bangor. He was born August 4, 1939 in Middleboro, MA a son of Howard Francis and Dorothy Alice (Cosgrove) Southworth. Stewart honorably served in the United States Navy from 1958-1963. He married Virginia Smith on September 23, 1966. Stewart was a laborer throughout his life. He was a social and kind man who loved camping and being outdoors as well as a good shot of bourbon. He was a member of the American Legion Post 75 of Old Town. Stewart was predeceased by his wife of 49 years Virginia Stephens Southworth. He is survived by four children Barry Smith of Marion, MA, Judith Guy of Milford, Kevin Smith of Milford and Shelley Southworth of Portsmouth, NH; seven grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Per his request there will be no formal funeral services. Private interment will be at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town. Memorial contributions may be made to the Activities Fund at Maien Veterans Home 44 Hogan Road Bangor, ME 04401
