Orono—Robert “Bobby” Kalel, died on the afternoon of March 20, 2013 at a Bangor hospital following a long, courageous, and brave battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his mom, big brother, and sisters. Bobby was a motorsports fan and enjoyed NASCAR racing and going to Speedway 95. He loved to go for rides to view the scenery or simply just staying home for the day. His family was his life and he truly loved his family and adored his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his mother Alice Kalel of Orono; brother Hartwell Kalel of Orono; four sisters Darlene Fellis and her husband Stephen of Lamoine, Lynn White and her husband Kevin of Milford, Laurie LeClair and her husband Andrew of Argyle, Mary Schaefer and her husband Thomas of Orrington; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his father Hartwell Jipson and a niece Allison Kalel and grandmother Lucy Tash. A memorial reception will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Bangor Motor Inn & Conference Center, 701 Hogan Road, Bangor Maine 04401.
