Bangor and Old Town - Mae Rossignol, 82, passed away peacefully, December 21, 2017, after an arduous battle with Alzheimer's. She was born in Old Town, March 14, 1935, the daughter of Louis and Yvonne (Shorette) Currier. Mae attended Old Town schools and Beal College. She went on to work for over 25 years as an Administrative Assistant for various departments at the University of Maine, Orono, where she maintained good relationships with students and professors alike. Mae was also a member of the former St. Joseph's Church, now Holy Family, Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord. Mae was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had a great sense of humor and was known for her intelligence and kindheartedness. She supported her daughter's schooling, and saw her through the completion of her college degrees. She loved her family dearly and was beloved by them. Mae is survived by her husband of 55 years, Leo Rossignol; devoted daughter, Rhonda Mackenzie and husband, Paul of Florida; son, John Rossignol; grandson, Jesse Langlais and wife, Mary Beth of North Carolina; and her brother, Louis "Mike" Currier. In addition to her parents, Mae was predeceased by a devoted brother-in-law, who faithfully visited Leo and Mae, Norman Rossignol. At the family's request, services will be private. Those who wish to remember Mae in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 383 US Route One #2C, Scarborough, ME 04074.
