LAGRANGE - Jackie Dale Garner Sr., 63, died unexpectedly October 9, 2015 at a local hospital with family by his side. He was born October 1, 1952 in Little Rock, AK a son of Troy and Alma (Woods) Garner.Jackie proudly served with the US Army during the Viet Nam War. He worked may years at the Stud Mill in Costigan, and for the last few years has found great comfort and peace, working as a CNA at Peace Harbor Health Care. Jackie enjoyed time spent with his daughter Deidre and her husband TJ, especially going to Loon Mountain, NH, participating in the highland games, and enjoying his Scottish ancestry. He was a Life Member of the VFW, Mason, 3rd Degree Scottish Rite, Shriner, and a member of AmVets.He is survived by his daughter Deidre Davis and her husband TJ; mother of his children and best friend Carolyne Eastman; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Jackie "Chip" Dale Garner Jr.A celebration of life service will be 2PM Saturday at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town, where friends may call from 12 noon Saturday until time of service. A committal service with military honors will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Lagrange.
