Frances
Wiegersma
January 19, 1928 — February 23, 2017
Glenburn - In loving memory of Frances Brasslett Wiegersma, 89, who went to be with our Lord on February 23, 2017, after a long illness. She was born January 19, 1928, in Costigan, ME, a daughter of Harry and Flossie (MacFarlin) Doane. For many years she enjoyed traveling to Florida during winter months. She enjoyed camping, reading, yard sales, playing cards with her sisters and sister-in-law, sewing and cooking "what we called her concoctions" - she would throw everything and anything into the bowl and want us to try it. But most of all she loved to make people laugh. She would say laughter is what keeps you young. She always said she should have been a comedian, just to make someone laugh would make her whole day. The sound of her laughter and the touch of her hand can never be replaced. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her and knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene and husband, Greg Thayer, of Hudson; daughter, Cheryl Jacobsen of Orono and Judy Kimble of Otis; grandchildren, Shawna Milano of Florida, Michael and wife, Miranda Brasslett, of Bangor, Ciara Jacobsen of Hudson and Donald Jr. and wife, Candice Skillin, of Bucksport; great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Christian Tirado of Florida, Evan Brasslett of Bangor, Tyler Toner of Bangor and Autumm Skillin of Bucksport; sisters, Patricia Abbott of Milford, Beatrice Doane of Orono and Marie and husband, Clair Hesseltine, of Milford; brother, Hugh Doane of Milford; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by first husband, Alphonse Brasslett; second husband, Edward Wiegersma; son-in-law, Robert "Bob" Jacobsen; grandchild, Donna Skillin; sisters, Joan Jackson, Bessie Robinson and Margaret Dyer; and brothers, Ralph Doane, Alvin "Bud" Doane and Edwin "Eddie" and wife, Gloria Doane. A gathering will be held at Darlene and Greg Thayer's residence, 1819 Hudson Rd., Hudson, on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at 2 p.m.
