Clayton Prudent Landry Obituary (1924 - 2014)

OLD TOWN - Clayton P. Landry, 89, went home to his Lord and Savior, October 11, 2014 at a Bangor hospital. He was born December 26, 1924 in Ellsworth, a son of Emile and Nora (Martin) Landry. Clayton was a WWII Veteran, having served as a sharpshooter with the US Army stationed in Germany and England. Following the service, he returned to Old Town, where he worked in area shoe shops for over 23 years, as well as driving for Dana's Cab Co., working at the Old Town paper mill, and retiring from the grounds crew at the University of Maine. He was an active member of Holy Family Church and enjoyed talking with people. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Freda (Bosse) Landry; two sons, Bob Landry and his wife, Chris of Bradenton, FL and John Landry and his wife, Leanne of Yuba City, CA; daughters-in-law, Shirley Finnorn and Marla Landry; seven grandchildren, Rob Landry and his wife, Susie, David Landry and his wife, Carol, Carrie Landry, Steven Landry and his wife, Anne d'Auray, Angela McLaughlin and her husband, Gary, Kimberly Robinson and her husband, Brocke, and Samantha Belcher and her husband, Mike, 10 great-grandchildren, special nephew, Peter Bosse and his wife, Helen; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, Larry and Mike Landry. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Parish of the Resurrection, Holy Family Church, Old Town. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Old Town. Immediately following the service, all are invited to return to the Parish Hall for a light luncheon and continued fellowship.
