Obituary

Old Town- Andre Joseph Parent passed away peacefully at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center on May 6th, 2026 with his family by his side at the age of 85. Andre was born in St. Zacharie, Quebec to parents Phydime and Antoinette Parent. He grew up in St. Zacharie, and moved to Maine in his early 20’s where he worked as a logger. He lived in Maine for the rest of his life. Andre loved the outdoors. He loved hunting, and was very proud of his moose he bagged in 2008. He also loved fishing, and would go camping and fishing with his family at Katahdin Iron Works. Trips like that gave him time to spend time with his family, who he loved dearly. He was especially close to his grandson, Kyle. He was active in his community, which was shown by his involvement in the American Legion, of which he was an honorary member and spent a lot of time working with. Andre was predeceased by his beloved wife of over 30 years, Karen “Cookie” Parent; stepchildren Barry Bard, Dena Caron, and Larry Daigle; and his parents Phydime and Antoinette Parent. He is survived by his stepchildren Kellie Gilbert and husband Rob, Gerry Bard and wife Elaine, Richard Robertson and wife Louise, Catherine Leonard and husband Doug, Christopher Robertson, Brian Robertson and partner Jeanette Curtis; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Andre was loved by all who knew him, and will be missed by all who knew him. A graveside service will be held on Monday May 11th at 10 am at Crocker Turn Cemetery.
